Sometimes, I think our role is misunderstood, especially by folks who think that we just serve to fill out a few forms a year to file. Those that do think that way end up having horrible tax outcomes such as missing out on the time value of money from depreciation tax strategies, totally blowing their tax deferred exchanges, or taking on tax positions that are neither supported by the Code or by any case law and getting slammed in an audit.
