In the case of incapacity, honoring your wishes is of the utmost importance. An advance healthcare directive (AHD) will allow your loved ones to manage your care in accordance with your wishes in the event that you become incapacitated. The AHD can include a living will, a medical power of attorney for healthcare decisions, and HIPAA waivers.
