A proud Wyoming native, Cameron was born in Riverton, Wyoming and grew up in Wamsutter, Wyoming. Growing up in rural Wyoming, he learned self-sufficiency, livestock care, driving, hunting, and fishing. At 13, Cameron moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming for high school before moving to Laramie, Wyoming at 18 to attend the University of Wyoming, where he received his B.A. magna cum laude in Criminal Justice with concentrations in pre-law studies and the University Honors Program. After an enjoyable experience at the University of Wyoming, Cameron elected to stay in Laramie and attend the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he held a staff position on Law Review.
