Debbie began her career after graduating from the University of Delaware and the University of Maryland School of Law, and she has been practicing in North Carolina since 1982. She has spent most of her career at a private practice specializing in Social Security Disability law. She was also a member of the North Carolina State Bar Social Security Specialization Section, and served as the membership director of the Social Security Section of the Academy of Trial Lawyers. Prior to 2014, Debbie was working but was badly injured in a fall and had to take time off to recover. After undergoing extensive continue education training including updates on recent Social Security rulings and regulations, Debbie has decided to come out of retirement and reopen her practice.
