Even if the crash was minor, you are not allowed to just drive off. Montana law also requires you to try to provide reasonable assistance to another person if it is obvious they need emergency care. Now is not the time to argue about how the crash happened or to apologize. You should also do your best to make sure you are safe, and your car is moved to a location to avoid more crashes. 2. Call 911. If you are not able to do it yourself, see if another person at the scene can do it for you. Even if you think it is a minor fender-bender, it is always best to call 911. If an ambulance arrives to the scene, let them evaluate you for injuries. They are trained to identify serious, life-threatening injuries that you might not feel, simply because you are in shock from the crash. 3. Exchange information Take a picture of the other drivers’ licenses, insurance cards, and registration. 4. Document the scene Take pictures or video of your vehicle all the way around it – not just where the impact occurred. If anyone saw the crash, get their information too. 5. Contact a qualified personal injury.
