Law Offices of Caryl A. Oberman
We are thrilled to announce that we won a groundbreaking case in federal court before Judge Savage. We argued and won at a due process hearing that the MCIU should cover preschool tuition for a typical preschool and provide transportation to that preschool if that child needs to attend a typical preschool in order to receive a free, appropriate, public education. In this particular case, the preschool child had autism spectrum disorder and needed to socialize with neurotypical peers. Upon winning at the due process hearing, the MCIU appealed to federal court and we won again. Leona Z. Goldshaw was counsel for the parents at the hearing and Caryl Andrea Oberman and Leona Z. Goldshaw we co-counsel for the federal appeal.

While she wasn't able to help me with my problem she was very informative understanding and helpful.
She made the decisions on what to do easy and gave us as much information so that we could make the right choice.
My son is now in a wonderful school and receiving the services he needs and he is thriving!
I highly recommend her to represent anyone struggling with the special education system, including that within your school district.
In every meeting or call we had with Caryl, we walked away more informed and with a better understanding of where our case was and what the next steps were.
I have to say, if you truly need someone to put up a fight for your child’s educational rights, there is no doubt in my mind and heart that Leona Goldshaw and The Law Offices of Caryl Oberman will do it for you!!
I am also familiar with the other lawyers (Leona & Caryl) who are also excellent, as well as their paralegal Maureen and their legal/administrative assistant Elaine.
She is the kind of lawyer you want in a fox hole with you when you are up against a stubborn and insensitive school district.
As of today we are going on the 4th week of school and my son is proof that even the most complex of kids have an appropriate fit in the school system somewhere.
Thank you Carly Oberman for your brilliant guidance through a very difficult time.
