Meet Stephany Garcia Herrera, Paralegal to Candace M. Williams Family Law, Stephany was born and raised in Queens, New York. She is of Mexican descent, and is a proud Latina who is proud to serve her community in Gainesville, GA. She moved to Georgia with her family after 9/11. Stephany attended the University of North Georgia, Gainesville campus earning her Associates in Science and Paralegal Studies and her B.A. in Political Science and minor in Sociology. Stephany attended law school at the Charleston School of Law. She is the first in her family to graduate from college and law school. While in law school, Stephany was active on campus and off campus. She was a student ambassador and President of the Latina Law School Association. Stephany served on the Dean’s Diversity Council. She was recognized for providing more than 100 hours of pro bono services while in law school. Stephany was elected to be a Fellow for the Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services where she assisted low-income clients with drafting a Last Will and Testament and she worked in the Family Law Department. Stephany was proud of work in the Guardian ad Litem program where she worked closely with adults with disabilities or were otherwise incapacitated. Her work in the Family Law Department sparked her interest in family law. Stephany began an internship with the law office of Candace M. Williams, P.C. while she was a 2L, (2nd year in law school).
