As a part of every mediation, the Husband and the Wife are required to do complete financial disclosure. Each client will prepare and provide to me a completed Statement of Net Worth (a financial disclosure statement as required in all divorces), and also provide me with back up financial materials: copies of current pay stubs, W-2's, tax returns, retirement account statements, credit card statements, etc. I will not simply rely on someone saying they earn $50K a year, show me the proof. The whole idea behind obtaining this information is so that both parties to the divorce/mediation, have an accurate and complete lay of the land.
