Our Office and Human Resource Manager, Emily Turknett, knew she wanted to be in the legal field as early as nine years old when she heard of Lawyers fighting for those who could not fight for themselves. Ten years later she completed her certificate in Legal Administration at Lively Technical College and then went off to become a messenger at a larger firm, where she discovered that she didn't want to be an Attorney but wanted to help them. Attorney Jami Coleman became her mentor in 2021 while Emily was her receptionist. When Jami decided to open her own practice, Emily happily followed. If you have been in our office, you may have seen our "Word of the Month" which we do an activity on each week at our meetings to help grow as professionals and as a team. This was something Emily created to help reduce stress levels and to create an uplifting and encouraging environment. She is currently working on obtaining her Small Business Certification and her SHRM. When she is not working, she most likely has her nose in a book or she is centering herself with either yoga or meditation. Emily's goal at the firm is to make every person who walks into our office, feel relaxed, welcomed, and understood.
