What happens to my Medicare coverage if I unretire? If you want to unretire and go back to work for a company, nothing needs to change with your Medicare!  You can still go back to work and continue with your Medicare.  However, if the new company you are working for offers Group Insurance ( and they have more than 20 people), that would be considered creditable coverage. If It costs less than what you are paying for Medicare, you would have the option of signing up for that Group Insurance, and you could cancel ( put your Medicare on hold and stop paying the payments).  When you were ready to retire again, you would need to fill out the Late Enrollment for Part B paperwork.  Two forms need completion, one form you'll complete, and the Human Resource department will fill out the other form.  Take these two forms and send them to the nearest Social Security office to you; this would start reactivating your Medicare.
